Vehicle Requirements
To operate as a private hire vehicle with Aurex and in the UK, your vehicle must meet the following standards. These are based on UK council licensing requirements and our own fleet standards.
Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL)
Your vehicle must hold a valid Private Hire Vehicle Licence (PHVL) issued by your local council. This is separate from your driver licence. The PHVL is attached to the specific vehicle registration plate.
Hire & Reward Insurance
Standard motor insurance does not cover private hire. The vehicle must be covered by a valid hire & reward (H&R) insurance policy. The policy must not exclude commercial hire and reward activity.
Valid MOT Certificate
A current MOT certificate is required. Private hire vehicles may require more frequent inspections — check your local council's requirements. Some councils require 6-monthly MOTs for licensed vehicles.
V5C Logbook (Vehicle Registration)
The DVLA V5C registration document confirming the vehicle's registered keeper. This must match the name on the PHVL application.
Minimum 4 Doors
All vehicles must be 4-door saloons, estate, or MPVs. 2-door vehicles are not accepted for private hire under UK licensing law.
Minimum 4 Passenger Seats
The vehicle must be licensed and physically capable of carrying a minimum of 4 passengers in addition to the driver.
Good Condition — No Cosmetic Damage
Vehicles must be in excellent external and internal condition. No visible dents, scratches, stains, or worn interiors. Aurex maintains a premium image — all vehicles must reflect that standard.
Vehicle Age
Outside London: manufactured 2006 or later. In London (TfL): manufactured 2008 or later. For Aurex executive service, we prefer vehicles no older than 8 years for saloons and 10 years for MPVs.
Approved Makes & Models (Executive)
For Aurex executive work: Mercedes-Benz (E-Class, S-Class, V-Class), Tesla Model Y, Audi A6/A8, BMW 5 Series/7 Series, Jaguar XF/XJ, Lexus ES/LS. Other makes subject to approval.
No Commercial Branding
Vehicles must not carry commercial branding, advertising, or roof signs that would identify them as taxis. Aurex-branded magnetic signs may be provided where appropriate.
Vehicle Registration Form
Submit your vehicle details and document photos below. All submissions are sent to aurexexecutivetravel@gmail.com and the admin WhatsApp for fast review.
- Photos must be taken in good daylight — interior and exterior
- Exterior: full front, both sides, and rear are required
- Interior: front seats, rear seats, and boot space
- Registration plate must be clearly visible in at least one photo
- All document photos must show full document with no cut-off edges
- PHVL licence plate disc (if issued) must be photographed in the vehicle
